We are currently supporting our client based in Sandy; who are world leaders within their industry of performance wafer probe stations and advanced cantilever probe cards, in their search for a successful Service/Application Engineer to join their growing team on a Permanent, full time basis.

Salary £37-£41k + Car allowance 

Job Purpose

Plans, coordinates and carries out installation and repair of Wentworth manufactured and OEM equipment globally. Assists Production with the build and commissioning of systems. 

The Role

Main duties and responsibilities include:

 Provides on-site troubleshooting support, or email and telephone support of company-built equipment

 Plan and organise customer maintenance visits in a manner that maximises efficient use of time and expenditure

 Conduct on-site installation, commissioning and training to ensure equipment is functioning according to specifications

 Determines parts supply, maintenance tasks, safety procedures, and service schedule required to maintain machines and equipment in prescribed condition

 Provide technical information and assistance to other departments as necessary

 Develops and conducts equipment training programs

 Supports the Sales team by demonstrating equipment to customers

 Assists the Engineering department with development and prototype work

 Works in conjunction with the Production department with fault finding and commissioning duties

Must be able to travel internationally for at least 50% of the time

Hours of work

Monday to Thursday: 08:30-17:00

Friday: 08:30-15:30

37.25 hours per week

Qualifications - HNC or BTEC Higher certificate in electronic or general engineering required

Experience - A minimum of 3 to 5 years customer-facing, equipment service related experience performing the essential duties or equivalent responsibility. Semiconductor industry experience

Knowledge and Skills - Mechanical and electrical/electronic expertise. Problem solving

Circumstances

  • Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time (normally 1/3 of time)
  • Global and UK travel is required
  • Full driving licence

Personal Qualities - 

  • Organised, friendly, good communicator, self-starter, uses own initiative
  • Works well under pressure
  • Ability to lift 25-50 kgs
