Senior Electrical Design Engineer

Due to growth, our client who is at the forefront of modern building services design, is now looking for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join our team. You will be fully conversant in all aspects of electrical design associated with Building Engineering Services including the site wide authority supplies required for major construction sites and industrial premises.

Key Expectations:

  • Provide evidence of previous major project design experience in electrical engineering
  • Provide evidence of your experience and understanding of integrated design in buildings
  • Demonstrate a thorough knowledge and understanding of detailed co-ordination with other design disciplines
  • Possess genuine interest and knowledge of sustainable design and low energy buildings
  • Provide evidence of delivering projects from inception to completion, through your own efforts and that of your team
  • Familiarity with site practices, and experience of inspections and surveys
  • Operational understanding of QA systems
  • Possess a good understanding of the commercial factors which affect design solutions

Professional and Technical Expertise Requirements:

  • Competent in specification writing, design/drawing for all building types
  • Knowledge of key health and safety issues and legislation
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications - word, excel, etc.
  • Must possess good knowledge and a competent ability in the use of Amtech and their preferred Lighting Design Software
  • Be conversant with up to date IT, technical methodology and information sources
  • Possess a thorough understanding of the relevant and current British and industry Standards
  • Possess the ability to prioritise project and team workload/s
  • Possess the ability to work to tight deadlines


  • All employees may receive an annual bonus in December (this is based on company/ employee performance)
  •  20 days holiday plus bank holiday with the allowance rising 1 day per year (after a full year of service) up to 25 days. (Currently being reviewed and increases shortly)
  • Christmas shutdown which staff do not need to use their allowance for (average of 2 week off, but it just depends on the way in which Christmas falls in the year).

Additional £5K car allowance

Initially in their office to learn the role/team/client but then would look to working from home 1/2 day or so a week.
