We have an exciting opportunity for someone with accounts experience to work for our client based in Leicester, LE1.

This is an opportunity to work with an established Leicester-Based organisation who work with some of the most prestigious companies locally, nationally, and internationally.

The role will involve sales order processing, payments received, creating new customer accounts, updating ledgers with accurate and up to date information, raising proformas, entering purchase invoices and checking and logging purchase orders and other duties.

There will be queries from your colleagues on site as well from clients both in the UK and abroad.

We are looking for someone AAT qualified (Level 2-3) and someone with SAGE experience. You will be proficient in Excel and have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

This is a very busy office environment so you will need to be able to prioritise your workload, work well under pressure, and work well in a team.

In return you will have an opportunity to work for a friendly and supportive team and this role will go permanent and be a stable ongoing job for the right candidate 

This role is a full-time position working Monday to Friday 09.00am – 17.00pm and has the opportunity to go permanent after 12 weeks for the right candidate.


Overview of Duties:

Sales Ledger

  • Sales Order Processing
  • Entering payments received (BACS/Cheque/Cash/CCP)
  • Creating New Customer Accounts
  • Updating Ledgers
  • Preparing and printing reports for month end / directors purposes
  • Chasing Customers
  • Raising Proformas
  • Updating Proforma logs
  • Maintaining all files and records for invoices
  • Understanding and use of tax codes in Sageline 20 (EEC/Non-EEC/UK)
  • Using multiple currencies (USD & GBP) to allocate correct payments
  • Invoicing using Sage in USD and GBP
  • Dealing with debit notes and raising credit notes


Purchase Ledger

  • Producing rebates for specific customers
  • Understanding commodity codes for import and export purposes
  • Matching up delivery notes with purchase orders and invoices
  • Producing reports


The successful candidate will have the following:

  • AAT Qualified (Level 2 or 3)
  • Experience of using SAGE
  • Excellent IT Skills – including proficiency on Excel
  • Experience of Sales and Purchase ledger
  • Experience of payroll processes
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritise workloads
  • Excellent customer service skills to deal with queries from colleagues and clients
  • Ability to work well in team
  • Excellent communication skills – written and verbal
  • Attention to detail
