Based near Long Itchington and reporting to the Hatchery Management we are seeking Hatchery Operatives to work Monday – Friday 6.00am – 2.00pm with flexibility to include the following tasks:

 

  • Loading setters
  • Monitoring the performance of the incubators
  • Incubator troubleshooting
  • Follow appropriate cleaning and hygiene standards, according to agreed company protocols
  • Ensure the correct amount of chicks are provided for each order
  • Check and grade chicks to the quality standard required
  • Build boxes for chick transport and complete labels to distinguish orders/ requirements of each order
  • Ensure day old chicks are vaccinated where required using appropriate equipment
  • Ensure that standards of chick welfare is met at all times, particularly in the handling of the chicks during the various treatments

 

You will have excellent organisational, communication and problem solving skills along with the ability to work under pressure.  Experience of food processing or bio-secure environments an advantage.
