Maintenance Engineer - Welder
We are currently recruiting Maintenance Engineer - Welder to work for a recycling firm in Rushden.
To provide efficient and effective preventative maintenance and breakdown cover to both the Rushden and Sharnbrook sites looking after and maintaining machinery and ancillaries. To ensure machinery breakdowns and repairs are completed in a timely manner as directed by your line manager or a member of the management team. It is essential to be able to communicate effectively and understand written and verbal communication.
Hours of Work:
07:00am - 19:00pm
Rate of Pay:
Ensure all Health and Safety, Environmental and Housekeeping standards and requirements are adhered too at all times. Ensuring you always work in a safe manner, following company policies and procedures and any breaches are reported to your line manager or any member of the management team immediately.
To working to all site SHEQ directives. Following all safe working practises at all times.
Ensure you are working to comply with all procedures in line with ISO 9001 & 14001 regulations.
Ensure that you work to safe working practices and current training standards.
To comply with the requirements of Health and Safety, Risk Management and any other relevant legislation and company policies.
At least 3 years’ demonstrable experience as a fabricator / welder, with experience in manufacturing medium to heavy engineered mild and stainless-steel products.
Experience in MMA, MIG and TIG welding to a high standard.
Ability to understand and interpret engineering drawings.
Ability to understand a project or work brief and deliver the required finished product.
Ability to effectively work independently and as part of a team
Ability to offer cost effective, viable solutions to site engineering problems.
Monitor operations of plant equipment and systems and make observations.
Execute all TPM activities as laid out in maintenance plans for both the Rushden and Sharnbrook sites as directed.
Ensure any requested checks are completed to company requirements.
The ability to progress within the next 3-5 years
We are looking for the following:
Significant experience in a manufacturing environment
Strong planning and organisational skills
Effective Communicator at all levels
Experience of using Ladders / Scaffolding / MEWP
Ability to demonstrate a high level of technical competence
Ability to work unsupervised and be self-motivated and driven to achieve set targets
Experience working with or setting up TPM schedules
IOSH Managing Safely
Forklift truck License
Commercial engineering improvement experience
Pneumatic / Hydraulic experience
Gear box and bearings experience
