A fantastic opportunity for Transport Gatehouse Attendant has arisen to join one of our global clients who are one of the largest delivery and logistic companies in the world. Our client is based in Bolton, BL3 in a completely refurbished Warehouse. As a Transport Gatehouse Attendant you will be responsible for contributing to the delivery of exceptional service within the transport operations team

 

Hours of work and pay

  • £24,600.00 per annum
  • Sunday-Thursday: Night Shift 20:30-04:30
  • Tuesday-Saturday: Night Shift 20:30-04:30

The role involves:

  • To ensure the arrival and departure of vehicles in the facility takes place in an efficient and organised manner
  • Organise, plan, manage and prioritise workload to suit operational requirements.
  • To ensure all customer service level agreements are adhered to.
  • To ensure customer requests are dealt with in a timely manner.
  • Liaise with internal and external vendors to ensure goods are collected on time to enable efficient delivery.
  • Communicate with suppliers to follow up on and book delivery.
  • To ensure that daily checklists and tasks are completed in a timely manner.
  • To be receptive to training and development opportunities that may be necessary for successful completion of designated tasks or specific projects.
  • To cover the workload of colleagues within the department during periods of absence or peak workloads.
  • To undertake any other duties as required by managements that will improve quality of customer service within the company in accordance with grade and nature of the post.

 

Candidate requirements:  

  • Previous transport administration/planning experience.
  • Previous Customer Service experience would be beneficial.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication would be required.
  • Competent on Excel and Microsoft word
  • Display positive personal attributes by being able to work off own initiative and as part of a team. 
  • Attention to detail and accuracy are key to the smooth running of the entire operation and so you must have the ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines. 
  • A positive working attitude and the capability to take instruction well from team leaders and management.
