Purpose of the Job:
To work closely with the Material prep Cell Leader to successfully fabricate bespoke products. Ensure a good quality product, delivered on time and in full. Ensuring best practice health and safety and promoting to others, at all times. To drive standards forward on a consistent basis.
Always promote Health & Safety in the workplace, displaying excellent personal safety and challenging others when unsafe behaviour is observed.
Support a Continuous Improvement culture.
Ensure adherence to ISO: 9001, taking responsibility that quality checks are being done and that record-keeping is maintained via score cards.
Ensure you work to agreed tolerances as stated on drawings.
Ensure all non-conformances are reported and that appropriate action (re-working/re-grading/scrap) is taken.
Ensure PPE, safe working & smoking policy is adhered to.
Support and lead internal training of team and maintain training records as agreed.
Support a 5S approach, ensuring your area is tidy and organised.
To have basic knowledge and experience of working with the grades of stainless steel used in Company fabrications (predominately Grade 304).
To follow the established material prep procedure specifications for work undertaken.
Preferably trained in all aspects of material preparation through the use of laser, plasma, press when scheduled. Following a strict training plan inclusive of training record sign off.
To understand and work to the required quality or manufacturing standards as determined by National or European standards (predominantly BS EN 845-2, EN 1090-1 and EN 1090-2).
To take instruction from the responsible material prep Cell Leader regarding press quality.
To take shared responsibility for product quality.
Report any personnel or machine issues to Management as and when they arise.
Able to read technical production drawings.
Good verbal communication skills.
Practice good house-keeping.
Keep reliable written production/quality records.
Be an effective team player.
Ability to manage own work load.
Follow Company procedures and processes at all times.
Experience in Stainless and Galvanised steel preparation.
Committed to high quality output.
Carry out other tasks as deemed necessary that are within the job holder’s capacity.
