Purpose of the Job: 


To work closely with the Material prep Cell Leader to successfully fabricate bespoke products. Ensure a good quality product, delivered on time and in full. Ensuring best practice health and safety and promoting to others, at all times. To drive standards forward on a consistent basis. 


Key Responsibilities/Duties: 


  • Always promote Health & Safety in the workplace, displaying excellent personal safety and challenging others when unsafe behaviour is observed.  
  • Support a Continuous Improvement culture. 
  • Ensure adherence to ISO: 9001, taking responsibility that quality checks are being done and that record-keeping is maintained via score cards. 
  • Ensure you work to agreed tolerances as stated on drawings. 
  • Ensure all non-conformances are reported and that appropriate action (re-working/re-grading/scrap) is taken. 
  • Ensure PPE, safe working & smoking policy is adhered to. 
  • Support and lead internal training of team and maintain training records as agreed. 
  • Support a 5S approach, ensuring your area is tidy and organised. 
  • To have basic knowledge and experience of working with the grades of stainless steel used in Company fabrications (predominately Grade 304). 
  • To follow the established material prep procedure specifications for work undertaken. 
  • Preferably trained in all aspects of material preparation through the use of laser, plasma, press when scheduled. Following a strict training plan inclusive of training record sign off.  



  • To understand and work to the required quality or manufacturing standards as determined by National or European standards (predominantly BS EN 845-2, EN 1090-1 and EN 1090-2). 
  • To take instruction from the responsible material prep Cell Leader regarding press quality. 
  • To take shared responsibility for product quality. 
  • Report any personnel or machine issues to Management as and when they arise. 
  • Able to read technical production drawings. 
  • Good verbal communication skills. 
  • Practice good house-keeping. 
  • Keep reliable written production/quality records. 
  • Be an effective team player. 
  • Ability to manage own work load. 
  • Follow Company procedures and processes at all times. 
  • Experience in Stainless and Galvanised steel preparation.  
  • Committed to high quality output. 
  • Carry out other tasks as deemed necessary that are within the job holder’s capacity.
