Logistics Supervisor

We have exciting opportunities to work for a leading global logistics company who are opening a brand new operation in Rugby on behalf of a worldwide online retailer


Have you experience in a Team Leader or Supervisory role within the warehousing and logistics sector?


Employment will be direct with our Customer, for an initial period of 12 months and will commence ASAP with interviews as early as week commencing Monday 14th September


Shift patterns are as follows:

· Afternoons - Monday to Friday 1pm - 9pm - £25,397

· Afternoons - Friday to Tuesday 1pm-9pm - £25,397

· Nights - Monday to Friday 9pm - 5am - £30,899

· Nights - Friday to Tuesday 9pm - 5am - £30,899

As the Logistics Supervisor the main duties will include;

· Organise, plan, manage and prioritise workload to suit operational requirements

· Allocate loading bays for vehicles in accordance with operational deadlines

· Ensure shift members receive, locate, store, pick, load and despatch goods as per customer requirements

· Respond to any concerns and investigate following the correct procedure

· To complete a hand-over for the next shift

· Ensure daily checks within the warehouse are carried out including checks on MHE and report and issues found

· Assist the Warehouse Supervisor in ensuring adequate staffing of shift and the induction and training of new staff

· Responsible for ensuring notification of absence forms / return to work interviews and paperwork are completed

· Monitor the work sheets to ensure information is recorded and procedures are followed correctly

· Assist the Warehouse Supervisor in investigating any incidents / accidents that occur

· Carry out performance reviews with your team every 6 months

· To be receptive to training and development opportunities

· Comply with Health & Safety legislation, promoting high standards across the Company

· Cover the workload of colleagues within the departments

· To undertake any other duties as required by management that will improve quality of Customer Service within the Company.

Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor, you will be required to assist in all aspects of the department and manage your team to ensure all members complete their required duties.


Person specification;

· Previous team leader / supervisory responsibility

· Experience of transport / distribution operations

· Ability to self-manage to provide results and excellent levels of Customer satisfaction

· Fluent in English, both spoken and written

· Sound Commercial understanding and judgment

IT literate, particularly MS Excel and Word
