To allocate stock to production and distribution supervisors. To ensure that all stock is appropriately identified and sorted and used in the correct order. To train staff in the relevant stock control procedures.
Identify and allocate stock to be used on a day to day basis
Ensure that stock is appropriately labelled with stock codes, wipes, ripening, ofco stickers etc
Ensure that stock is stored in the appropriate location and inform supervisors and line managers of obvious deviations, doubts and problems
Action remedial work
Carry out stock counts and verifications from time to time if required
Keep management informed of underlying or possible problems relating to produce eg shortages, poor stock, over stock, over ripe stock, waste.
Monitor storage areas to ensure that all goods are stored correctly
To act on picking instructions, label, count, secure and make pallets of produce ready for dispatch
When storing goods making sure they are stored in the correct temperature regime
Enforce and follow systems eg signing in and out labels from the label room, report H&S violations to the management
Responsible for reporting any damages eg racking and to secure off any unsafe racking
Pick from racking and place pallets in exchange area of stock controllers to get.
