Siamo Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Shift Manager for our prestigious client based in Aston, Birmingham working on a permanent contract within their brand new site.

Must have previous experience of operating in a similar role together with proven track record of managing people in line with Company ER Policies and Procedures.

Shift Manager – reporting to Operations Manager

Hours - 22:00-06:00

Salary - £32k-£38K dependent on experience

Role Purpose

 

Reporting into the Warehouse Operations Manager or Stock & Systems Manager this position will play a key role in leading the warehouse operation to meet current and future customer service requirements.

The role involves overseeing a group of operatives and team leaders, running the full shift including overseeing goods in, put away, replenishment, dispatch and cycle counting.

The role will involve the management and operational activities of the shift whilst maintaining working methods and system processes. 

Key Accountabilities

  • Maintain all the operational activities of the shift.
  • Organise tasks and deploy associates to ensure productivity and work flow of the shift.
  • Input into continuous improvement of all warehouse processes and systems to enhance customer service.
  • Management of team leaders and associates.
  • Manage associates in accordance to company policies and procedures.
  • Primary key holder with call out responsibilities.
  • Ensuring all associates adhere to safety procedures. New associates to receive inductions, manual handling training and relevant MHE training as well as PPE before commencement of duties.
  • Communicate targets to team leaders and associates.
  • Conduct staff performance reviews, grievance and disciplinary matters.
  • Report on KPI targets to management.
  • Prepare and discuss shift handover reports with management.

Essential Experience

  • Excellent people management skills.
  • A good analytical and organised approach to work.
  • Ability to plan resource with accuracy.
  • Experience of managing KPI’S and achieving targets.
  • A team player able and able to make firm decisions when required.
  • Able to work under pressure.
  • Flexibility to work other shifts to cover absent associates.
  • IOSHH Managing Safely an advantage.
  • Experience in handling disciplinaries.

Technical / Functional skills:

  • Exceptional experience in people management within a warehouse environment.
  • Proven track record in delivering customer service standards through operational continuous improvement and cost control methods.
  • Good knowledge of SAP WMS.
  • Microsoft office skills

Special requirements / additional information, e.g. Language skills

  • MHE Licenses for LLOP, VNA and Reach trucks.
  • Flexibility to work different shift patterns.
  • Industry experience
