HomeCareDirect are looking for dedicated people to support our client to live a full and active life in their family home and out in the community.
The client is a 34 year old man who lives in his own 3 bedroomed house. He has Autism/ Asperger Syndrome and suffers with Anxiety syndrome. He is a very outgoing and generally happy person with a very caring nature. The client likes to be outdoors and his hobbies include walking, music and a particular love of animals. He needs encouragement to try different tasks but once talked through is usually willing to give it a go.
The client does need encouragement on certain aspects, however he does need to have input on what activities are to be undertaken during the day. Planned activities are good however the client would let you know sometimes on the day if he doesn’t want to do these activities.
The client sometimes needs prompting to complete everyday tasks and could require help to complete these tasks. He enjoys cooking and needs to be given encouragement and help to do this. He loves entertaining and would like nothing better than to greet visitors with a cup of coffee and a biscuit.
You will be required to assist the client in the tasks below:
A full, valid driving licence is required. It is preferable that applicants have their own suitable vehicle to take the client out, however the client will have his own car to enable trips out.
This client has a dog which is well trained but applicants need to be aware of this
It is desirable for applicants to have previous experience in the care sector. This can be either paid or voluntary work and family care experience can be considered.
Applicants should have an outgoing caring fun-loving disposition - (very important)
