Electrical duty holder / Senior Authorised Person (SAP)

We therefore are ready to appoint a Senior Authorised person to ensure all electrical systems from connection to used outlets are operated and maintained compliantly in line with industry best practice and regulation

Gene and cell therapy is the treatment of disease by the delivery of therapeutic DNA into a patient’s cells, providing long term and potentially curative treatments for a wide range of diseases. With the potential to transform medicine, the sector holds significant promise with the first commercial products now launched and others rapidly approaching the market.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Ensure statutory compliance of electrical systems and infrastructure across all our premises from point of connection to user outlet
Responsible for releasing plant for maintenance by carrying out physical isolations on electrical (HV/LV), mechanical plant and issuing Safety Documents, reviewing works once complete and then releasing equipment back to operation
Reviewing any electrical installations or modifications carried out are completed to industry standard prior to releasing for use
Maintain a clear detailed record of all electrical infrastructure
Provide risk assessments for electrical working activities and operations.
Attend emergency electrical failures
Become the interface between OXB and DNO for maintenance or fault repair
Ensure the Engineering function is adequately trained and competent in line with industry standards to carry out their normal duties
Key Skills & Experiences Required:
HNC in a relevant electrical or engineering discipline or demonstrable practical experience
Time served (5 years Minimum) as a fully qualified electrical SAP.
Previous experience of working to maintain critical environments, equipment or processes.
You must hold current authorisation's with any of the UK’s DNO’s, or have held authorisations within one of the UK’s DNO’s within the last 12 months (LV, 11kv)
Possess a thorough understanding of working under operational control and experience of switching systems, procedures and processes, including outages.
Must be able to demonstrate a wide range of knowledge and experience with various overhead line, underground cabling and substation components / equipment / systems, including switchgear, transformers and high voltage cabling.
Ideally possess a good knowledge / experience of ring and radial systems.
Ideally possess a good knowledge / experience of switch-gear maintenance.
