A talented manager and business partner is required to provide additional expertise and support shaping our Intellectual Property & Contracts function (IPC) which ensures our contractual agreements meet our company policies and procedures.

Oxford Biomedica is a pioneer of gene and cell therapy and our work is helping to deliver life changing treatments.

Gene and cell therapy is the treatment of disease by the delivery of therapeutic DNA into a patient’s cells, providing long term and potentially curative treatments for a wide range of diseases. With the potential to transform medicine, the sector holds significant promise with the first commercial products now launched and others rapidly approaching the market

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Drive the review, drafting and negotiation of a range of agreements in accordance with company policies, procedures and business requirements
  • Understand and manage any risks associated with the proposed terms and conditions and develop strategies and recommendations to minimize risk to the business
  • Manage processes and procedures relating to agreement request, drafting, negotiation and finalisation and advise on such processes and procedures
  • Work closely with our Lab Management, Engineering and Facilities functions supporting their contractual needs
  • Proactively collaborate with OXB’s Procurement group to consolidate existing and new contracts leading savings and improved efficiencies
  • Work with the Contracts Director to design and implement policies and procedures covering the negotiation and management of supplier contracts
  • Oversee day-to-day management of the contracts database for supplier related agreements
  • Handover of negotiated agreements to internal contract requesters to explain obligations
  • Line manage more junior member(s) of contracts team
  • Work closely with other members of the IPC group to deliver contracts within the business

 

Required Education & Experience

  • Educational qualification to at least degree level
  • Significant experience of generation, review, negotiation and management of a wide range of agreements with other parties
  • Proven proactive business partnering & collaboration skills particularly within a procurement setting
  • Previous line management experience
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Adobe; knowledge of databases
