Duties & Responsibilities
Responsible for the activities undertaken in the microbiology lab serving the analytical laboratory suites e. overseeing submission and testing of samples, ensuring that all assays are performed to meet regulatory compliance and in a timely manner.
Accountable for ensuring the quality and timely delivery of cell culture stocks to lab based groups.
Making sure key equipment is serviced, calibrated, tested etc. and kept fit for purpose.
To raise and review equipment files to meet GxP standards.
To oversee, maintain and ensure quality of key stock consumables, medias, solutions and buffers used by scientists to ensure work activities are maintained.
Assist the Laboratory Supervisor to ensure the laboratory suites meet regulatory compliance.
Ensuring OXB laboratory waste management systems are adhered too.
Follow the cleaning schedule to Good Manufacturing Practises (GMP) within OXB tissue culture suites.
Required Education & Knowledge
Educated to Diploma level in a science subject or equivalent
OR as a minimum educated to GCSE A level (in a science subject) or equivalent qualification level or experience gained within a similar work place and position.
Previous experience working in a GLP and/or GMP laboratory
Experience working in tissue culture labs, micro labs would be an advantage.
Computer skills essential with a strong knowledge of Microsoft Office.
