Production Supervisor

£13.50 PER HOUR

We are looking to recruit an experienced Production Supervisor, preferably from the fresh food/consumable industry, for our client based in Measham.

The primary goal of this role is to ensure the streamlined organisation of both products and personnel to fulfil orders in a safe, efficient, and timely manner, adhering strictly to specified requirements. This role prioritises strict compliance with several procedures and processes, including but not limited to health and safety regulations, food safety standards, quality control measures,

This is a 40-hour working week Monday to Saturday, with overtime paid at time and a quarter after 40 hours and time and half after 48 hours. Some Sunday work involved.

Working hours can change so FLEXIBILITY is needed especially in the run up to Christmas. Rotating shifts 07.00am – 15.00pm and 15.00pm until finish

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervises production lines, guaranteeing punctual and complete execution of the production plan via proper setup of both machinery and personnel, while upholding stringent product quality standards.
  • Fosters a positive, collaborative workspace that bolsters teamwork and enhances team performance engagement.
  • Advocates for a positive food safety culture within the team, leading by example, while consistently upholding 100% compliance with Health & Safety, Food Safety, Quality and housekeeping regulations, thereby always maintaining an audit-ready environment.
  • Completes all production and quality documentation accurately and clearly.
  • Manages the protocol of line start up checks to ensure they are completed by staff and that no Health and Safety or quality issues are identified.
  • Complies with all cleaning requirements regarding chemical usage, method and application methods and safe working practices to ensure all equipment and surfaces are clean and sanitised and required hygiene performance is always maintained.
  • Manages stocks to ensure correct rotation is achieved, wastage is kept to a minimum and all stock is counted and recorded as required.
  • Reports accurate figures regarding waste, downtime, yield and shift performance.
  • Monitors waste disposal streams to ensure compliance both with disposal and re-cycling requirements.
  • Liaises with the Maintenance team to ensure all equipment is in working order and maintained.
  • Deploys staff, ensuring that staffing levels are maintained in line with core manning policy.
  • Delegates tasks effectively to staff, routinely checking to ensure task completion.
  • Works closely with the Operations Support Manager and QA Supervisor to ensure forward planning.

 

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • Industry experience, preferably within the produce sector.
  • Proficiency in cultivating robust inter-departmental relationships and collaborating with operational peers on technical issues.
  • Professionalism and a positive demeanour.
  • Exceptional communication skills, a minimum of Level 2 English or equivalent proficiency.
  • A systematic approach complemented by meticulous attention to detail.
  • Prior supervisory experience is advantageous.
  • HACCP Level 1 or 2 certification
