We have an exciting opportunity for a business development minded individual to join a leading training and management consultancy.

We are looking for someone to take responsibility for maximizing income streams by driving both new and existing business!

Maintaining a portfolio of customers, you will maximise lead generation and suport with growth and sustainability of the business.

This role forms part of the Senior Leadership Team and is integral in supporting the development of the business strategy and achieving the company objectives.

You will be required to travel around the UK. This role offers a range of hybrid working opportunities.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain an effective marketing strategy to help drive new business and expand the profile of PQMS
  • Constantly evaluate sales efforts, building on what works and changing what doesn’t
  • Represent the company in negotiations with customers, suppliers, government departments and other key stakeholders to ensure the business secures the most effective contract terms.
  • Provide a professional and seamless delivery on tender responses and presentations, ensuring all key aspects are captured
  • Produce client contracts
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, such as customers, local authorities and agencies
  • Understand the needs of our customers and work to provide a solution that meets their needs
  • Strategically manage and develop key accounts, continuously striving to create new ones
  • Formulate and be accountable for the achievement of growth targets and KPIs, ensuring they are aligned to the overall business strategy
  • Embrace new technologies that enhance the businesses customer base and optimise business processes
  • Produce timely and accurate sales forecasting and pipeline reports for SLT meetings
  • Hold regular sales team meetings to review performance, sales strategy and schedules
  • Lead and develop the sales team, and be responsible for all aspects of people management (e.g. managing absence, performance reviews, development plans).
  • Effectively manage the departmental budget, working closely with the Finance Director to ensure that spend on resources is appropriate to task
  • Research and identify emerging markets and trends and reposition the sales strategy as appropriate
  • Adhere to all Company policies and procedures
  • Help to maintain a safe and secure working environment
  • Any other duties which may be required as part of this role, as requested by the CEO.


Essential Competencies/Skills/Knowledge/Qualifications

  • Strong personal network across telecommunication-industry communication providers and infrastructure builders.
  • Extensive industry knowledge, with proven experience in winning contracts
  • Impeccable financial acumen, with proven experience of managing budgets
  • Able to lead and support a team in the achievement of ambitious KPIs
  • Good sound knowledge of Microsoft applications including Word, Outlook and Excel
  • Full UK Driving Licence, with ability to regularly travel between sites for work
