Production Controller Overview:

You will be Responsible for the control of all production to achieve customer requirements. To achieve this by efficient management and expedition of all purchased and manufactured parts, as well as solely controlling the flow of work required to meet the delivery of a products to cost and schedule - using Kinetic.

  • Monday to Friday. 
  • 08:30 am - 17:00 pm.
  • £35000.00 - £45000.00 PA

Main Duties of a Production Controller:

  • Raise / convert Production orders (Travelers) to achieve customers’ requirements / MPS / stock levels.
  • Working closely with the sales team and other departments providing lead times.
  • Manage outstanding production orders. Ensuring Production orders are completed on time in full.
  • Plan production and produce work to lists.
  • Identify capacity issues in advance and recommend solutions.
  • Agree recovery plan with Line Manager and execute.
  • Communicate production requirements to the production team.
  • Monitor all outstanding production orders and ensure they are completed by the planned date.
  • Rescheduled production orders and advise of date changes to sales.
  • Work with Stores team to ensure all despatches are completed on time in full.
  • Work closely with the Production Assistant ensuring all purchased parts are received on time.
  • Ensure all data within the Production order including drawings are correct before issuing to the shopfloor or suppliers.
  • Setting and maintaining minimum on hand quantities and safety stocks.
  • Creating and maintaining Master Production Schedule for regular runners.
  • Maintain master Bill of Operations data.
  • Create Transfer orders.
  • Minimize obsolete stock.
  • Reviewing safety stocks of manufactured parts, making recommendations to line Manager.
  • Ensure all Production orders are completed correctly and closed off.

Essential Skills Required of a Production Controller:

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task.
  • Proven experience as a Production Planner / Supply Chain Planner.
  • Experience of using ERP / MRP systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of office management systems and procedures.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel and Word in particular).
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work.
  • Attention to detail and critical thinking.

Qualities of a Production Controller:

  • Strong Communicator.
  • Keen eye for details. 
  • Highly organised.
