Siamo is looking for an experience Engineer and Industrial Buyer.

Our client has been trading successfully from their Northampton base for over 30 years. The business has grown incrementally to become regarded as one of the most respected sheet metal fabrication companies in Europe – by manufacturing high quality, precision sheet metalwork in stainless steel, aluminum, and mild steel. What you can expect as a Buyer:

  • £30000.00 Per Annum.
  • Monday - Friday.
  • 08:30 am - 17:00 pm (16:00 pm Finish Friday).
  • Continued Training.
  • Company Pension.

  • 22 Days Holiday plus bank holidays, Rising to 27 with Length of service.

  • NN5/ Northampton Based.

Main Duties of a Buyer:

  • Raising, Issuing and maintaining purchase orders.
  • Work closely with all stakeholders to achieve the best delivery, quality and cost.
  • Purchase of material and parts.
  • Supplier management and monitoring of performance.
  • Liaising with suppliers to progress and discuss orders.
  • Monitor and review supplier performance.
  • Collaboration with production to ensure no delays.
  • To source materials and negotiate with suppliers.
  • Build and maintain close relationships with suppliers.
  • Review processes and product with a view of saving cost both direct and indirect.

Key Requirements of a Buyer:

  • A manufacturing background with procurement knowledge. 
  • Adhere to all company policies and instructions.
  • Good IT skills.
  • Read engineering drawings.
  • Experience in a purchasing environment.
  • Experience in a manufacturing business. 
  • Experience with an ERP/MRP system.
